Little protectors, big treasures – MSR dataloggers at the Museum of History, Bern<\/h2>\n

\nThe primary purpose of museums is not just to present cultural artefacts in an attractive setting, but to do so under the optimum climatic conditions. This places a great responsibility upon museum management. Damage to priceless and unique items cannot be allowed. The
\nMuseum of History in Bern<\/a>
\nuses the handy
\nMSR145 datalogger<\/a>
\nfor the permanent monitoring of its exhibits.\n<\/p>\n

\nTino Zagermann, manager of restoration, explains, “to obtain meaningful measurements of the environmental conditions immediately surrounding the exhibit the logger must be situated as close as possible to it.” The thumb-sized datalogger MSR145 scores highly here. Zagermann transfers the measured values to his laptop directly at the exhibit – it’s hardly possible to imagine a more user-friendly method of operation. Furthermore, the logger delivers highly precise and reliable data recording possibilities. At the moment, five MSR145 units are in use at the Museum of History in Bern. It is planned to acquire further units that will also be used for monitoring purposes in galleries, churches and art collections.\n<\/p>\n
